The accuracy on show probably explains a lot...

Last Saturday (15th June), the Club hosted its first (possibly annual) Beer Pong Championship and 15 pairs signed up for the pleasure of throwing ping pong balls into cups of beer. The 15 pairs were split into four Champions League-style (you can decide which is of higher quality) groups, with the winners of the round-robin format going into semi-finals.

After a tense (and somewhat long-winded) round of fixtures, we identified our four semi-finalists: Jack Plumb/Dylan Coleman, Dan Naughton/Kian Linnane, Harry Wilkins/Jack Ryan, James Quinlan/Rachel Knightley.

The drama was high, shots were exchanged, leads were taken and comebacks made before Jack & Dylan and James & Rachel emerged into the final.

With the hour approaching midnight (as per the UEFA rule that finals must kick-off as close to midnight as possible), the two finalists got set for battle. After an early set-back, James and Rachel created a two-cup lead - a lead that would prove vital. Despite a late comeback from Jack and Dylan, Rachel kept her nerve to sink the final shot and lift (well, wear) the title - a truly incredible Cameroon Football Federation denim gilet, with faux-fur trim.

A great night was had by all and it was amazing to see such a fantastic atmosphere between players of all XI's and ages. Thanks to Joe Naughton for scheduling and arranging the night. Here's to next year & defending the title!
