A Historic Week for Enfield Cricket Club: Our Juniors Shine at Lord’s

Enfield Juniors make club history at Lord’s & Middlesex 2s return this July! Don’t miss these moments – click to read more!

This past week has been one for the history books at Enfield Cricket Club. While we hosted high-level county matches, the standout moment came when our very own Enfield Juniors made their debut appearance at Lord’s, the Home of Cricket – a first in the club’s long and proud history.

Enfield Juniors Take Centre Stage at Lord’s – Thursday, 29th May

In a moment that will be cherished for years to come, our Juniors had the honour of serving as mascots for the Vitality Blast T20 match between Middlesex CCC and Sussex Sharks at Lord’s. They proudly waved flags and welcomed the players onto the hallowed turf – a truly unforgettable experience for these young cricketers and for everyone connected to the club.

For Enfield CC, this historic occasion wasn’t just about waving flags; it was a celebration of the hard work and dedication of our Juniors and their families, as well as a reflection of the club’s growing presence in the cricketing world. Seeing our players on the pitch at Lord’s – where so many of the game’s greats have played – was a powerful reminder of what community cricket can achieve.

This milestone marks a significant moment in the club’s journey and an inspiration for all our young players, showing them that dreams really do come true. From the local playing fields of Enfield to the iconic Lord’s pavilion steps – our Juniors are making their mark.

Middlesex Girls U18 vs Surrey Girls U18 – Tuesday, 27th May

Earlier in the week, Enfield CC welcomed two rising powerhouses of the women’s game as Middlesex Girls U18 took on Surrey Girls U18. Despite the rain curtailing play after just a few overs, it was a testament to our commitment to supporting and hosting elite youth cricket. We look forward to seeing these young talents back in action soon.

Middlesex 2nd XI vs Kent 2nd XI – Friday, 30th May

To round off an extraordinary week, Enfield CC hosted a highly competitive match between Middlesex 2nd XI and Kent 2nd XI. This match featured a host of familiar and future stars, including:
JM De Caiers, son of former England captain Michael Atherton, playing under his mother’s maiden name.
Blake Cullen, a regular England U19 player who previously visited Enfield CC for a Q&A session in 2023 with Angus Fraser and Sam Robson.
Aaryan Sawant, who recently scored a brilliant 130 in a Youth Test for England U19s against South Africa U19.
Nathan Fernandes, a member of the England Young Lions program.
• Joe Cracknell, a Middlesex 1st XI stalwart.
Ishaan Kaushal and Kashif Ali, both of whom have played for their counties at 1st XI level.

More High-Profile Cricket on the Horizon!

We’re excited to announce that Enfield CC will be hosting two more Middlesex 2nd XI matches this summer, both against the touring Zimbabwe A team! These will be 50-over matches scheduled for:
? Sunday, 28th July – First match from 11am
? Tuesday, 30th July – Second match from 11am

This is a fantastic opportunity to see some of the best emerging talent from both Middlesex and Zimbabwe up close, right here at Enfield CC. We encourage all members, families, and supporters to come down, enjoy a day of high-quality cricket, and be part of this exciting occasion.
