The 3rd XI kicked off their 2019 season with a 121 run victory away at Alexandra Park.
After being asked to bat, opener Tom Horne set the tone for the innings top scoring with 61, ably supported along the way with several strong partnerships the top order. A better than a run a ball 47 from wise head Neil Tilley helped drive the 3's up to a strong total of 262 from their 45 overs.
In reply, Alexandra park's innings got off to a troublesome start after captain Greg Mackett got through the openers defence. It was the spin attack of james Ryan, Kish Patel and Ollie Weenen that ripped through the AP line up. Ryan bowling superbly throughout his full allotment of over finishing with 3-34. Kish Patel also picking up 3 wickets but is was youngster Ollie Weenen who picked up the final wicket and the 10 points.
