Goodbye to another Club stalwart

It is with great shock and sadness to tell you that one of our former Presidents, Kenny Parker passed away a few days ago after a short and unexpected illness.

Kenny was a cornerstone of Enfield Old Grammarians Football Club and played at the highest of amateur levels as well as refereeing regularly. As a committee member and later Chairman of that section he was instrumental in building so much of their success and strength on and off the field of play.

Kenny was fully involved in the overall club running a number of sports days and intersection competitions. He was also a President who worked tirelessly to bring the sections together.

Only a few weeks ago Kenny and I had a curry together and talked about the Club, its ambitions and challenges and what future involvement he wanted to have with the football section and the main Club.

I knew Kenny for over thirty years and remain proud to have called him a friend and fellow clubman.

Kenny was terrific company and his sudden passing is a terrible happening. As much as the Club will feel this heavy loss our thoughts go to Trish, Vicky and Kat, their partners and Kenny's grandsons who bear that pain more heavily.
