A look ahead.

As I write a welcome bit of rain has arrived on the ground to enable the fertilsers and dressing across the square and outfield to do their work. It also has the benefit of testing the complete refurbishing of the pavilion roof which we have done to stop those irritating little leaks and is a long term investment in our facilities.

Planning for the cricket season is well underway with nets starting and various social events already being drafted into the diary. Provisional dates to look out for include:

Friday 5th April - Comedy Night at the Club
TBC in April - Cricket signing-on night
(Bank Holiday Monday) 27th May - Chairman's BBQ with 20/20 cricket

The last one is my way of saying thank you to members for their continued support in the running of the Club and takes over from my annual buffet for the Committee which I now want to extend more widely. Essentially I am going to give you a free BBQ - how good is that! Details to come.

Other ideas include a revised Juniors Fun Day, a repeat of the beer festival and a live band evening.

There is always space for other events and ideas are welcome and organisers even more so!

Look out for details of the traditional Good Friday ground maintenance day where we need your DIY skills regardless of age and ability...

All said, we are in good shape and getting better but plenty of work to do and let us get down the Club during these winter months and share ideas as well as getting involved in the action. A Saturday afternoon watching the Old Grammarians football and then back to the bar for a few pints and a chat is a great way to get things moving.
