Early season ups & downs.

After a super start of a league win for each cricket team on the opening day of the season we have had patchy results since. The positive side is that we are competing hard and in the right way and all players are getting into form with bat, ball and in the field.

Wednesday nets are well attended and the food provided by Lyn Gill's "Simple Suppers" are going down well. The general team spirit is really strong and great credit goes the captains Jack, Adam and Greg, as well as their vice-captains who are leading from the front.

The cocktail night was a great success and really fun event for those that could remember the following day.

The tennis courts are in fine condition and although the league results need a boost the players are very happy with the prospects for the summer.

The end of season football dinner was a blast and very well attended and ably led by Commander Tim Jackson Royal Navy, who shouted his way through proceedings! Well done to the 4th Team who led the honours board. The recently departed Kenny Parker would have been proud of the event.

Over 300 people said goodbye to Kenny on Friday 24th May which was a fitting tribute to a person that was respected and loved by so many of us.

In the coming days we have Arsenal and Spurs seeking European glory. Whatever your team is come to the Club on the finals nights to have a drink and watch the games.
